Hey mom, thank you so much for caring and how, you know, we do butt heads, you know, sometimes
0:08
But you're always there and, you know, if me and dad get in a little bit of an argument
0:12
you're always a peacemaker and you make sure everybody's being heard and you talk to people behind closed doors
0:19
And you really resolve a lot of tension in this family. So I want to thank you for being the peacemaker because I honestly think that if you weren't a peacemaker
0:28
this family would probably crumble, you know? So thank you for being the peacemaker
0:33
and thank you for caring and wanting everybody to be heard. Hey, Mom
0:40
When Robert told me about this video, it was not difficult to think about things from you
0:48
or traits that I'm really grateful for. It's funny because there are lots
0:53
like kind of your presence and, intuition and knowledge in medicine growing up and how that influenced me, seeing how you cared for
1:04
Cade and gave her injections when she was sick. But something smaller actually came to mind. I think I feel like it represents a larger, nice thing
1:17
And that was kind of times frequently enough growing up that I would ask for something, food-wise
1:27
or whatever it may be. And remember your response is usually like
1:32
oh, I don't know if Dean's going to have that or whatnot. But lo and behold, every time you would come home from Gore Bay
1:41
you would pretty much always have that thing. You'd be like, well, I found this for you, Jig
1:46
And I don't know, that really touches me. Obviously, you have many roles that go well beyond groceries
1:54
But that always came to mind, and I feel like it represents kind of those really kind acts of service that you provided so much of for us growing up
2:05
So thank you for those and I love you. Mom, I just want to say that I really appreciate that you made the decision to leave nursing and be a full-time mom when I was born
2:17
It really meant a lot to me growing up to have a full-time mom in the house
2:21
And I just wanted to say that I really appreciate that. I love you, Mom
2:26
Hi mom. Excuse my voice because I'm still getting better from a sickness here, but I just wanted to make this video to tell you how much I appreciate you and especially I want to talk about how much I appreciate just how much of a steadying influence you were growing up and doing all the things around the house that we always took for granted growing up. But now, as the
2:56
an adult running my own home, I really think a lot more about all the things you did that I never even had to think about
3:02
That now I really miss running my own home and having to do all those things myself
3:07
And I also can appreciate a lot more all the work that you put in and keeping the house running smoothly doing all the laundry folding it putting it away cooking three good meals a day and just providing that motherly infrastructure to our life
3:27
I also really appreciate our relationship now and how it's evolved and how, you know
3:34
growing up you were a mother to us, and sometimes that meant we didn't always see eye to eye
3:39
but now as an adult and as a mother myself, I feel like you're more of just a friend who I can talk to and you're always a listening ear and I always feel better after talking to you about things that are going on in my life with the kids or with just, you know, being an adult
3:58
And I really appreciate that about you and about our relationship. I like going to their house when I'm going to take you
4:09
On a trip, they only make it special. I like when Mimi made us when Mimi got those lollipops
4:19
Yeah. Okay, what's something you love and appreciate about Mimi? Mimi. Mimi
4:26
Yeah. You just love Mimi? Yeah. What else? Mimi's garden. Mimi's garden
4:35
Yeah. What else? Mimi's sandbox. Mimi's sandbox? Yeah. What else? Mm-hmm. Mimmy's house
4:45
Nimi's house? Yeah. What else? The picnic tables. Oh, the picnic tables
4:53
What else? Mm. Well, the barbecue. The barbecue? Yeah. All the barbecues
5:03
Yeah. Okay. Anything else you want to say? Yeah. What? Mimi's plants
5:11
Oh, Mimi's plants, yeah. Yeah, and her flowers. In her flowers? Yeah
5:18
Anything else? Yeah, and the toys and the grass. The toys and the grass
5:24
Yeah. Oh, that's great. What's something you appreciate with me? Uh, uh, inside the house
6:02
I had a picnic table. The picnic table
6:12
Put the foot down. What else? The ball of the people
6:23
Hi, Mom. I want to thank you for all the times you been a calming force in difficult situations times when things have gotten particularly hard or scary usually in some very real tangible physical way
6:40
You've always been the one I've turned to, for reassurance, for help, for advice
6:45
I think back to when I was little, when I fell and hit my lip on the corner of that picnic table
6:53
I think the winter I was eight or so, split it open pretty bad
6:56
you were the one I ran to because I knew as bad and as scary as it was to see that blood dripping onto the snow
7:03
you'd make everything all right. And you did. And then there was the time that I fell off the farm wagon
7:10
when I was swinging a stick around playing and hit the back of my head on a piece of gravel
7:15
And it was your arms I ran into because I knew that as badly as I thought I was probably injured
7:23
no matter what, you could make everything all right. And then moving ahead in time to my adult years, you continued to be that calm, reassuring support system for me
7:36
When Edita was pregnant, for example, and we had some times of scary moments and uncertainty
7:44
and the whole thing was so new, and we had a lot of questions and a lot of concerns
7:50
you were right there to answer and address every single one of those to make us feel calm and reassure
7:56
at a time that for many people, I think, is pretty scary
8:02
And then, of course, there was Lily's actual birth when the time came for that
8:07
You were there. You were helping me to stay calm and grounded and helping me to feel like I wasn't alone
8:15
because I wasn't. You were there for Lily's birth, and afterwards, when Edita had the heart trouble
8:23
you took care of our daughter for the first week or so of her life
8:29
And knowing that you were there and knowing that as scary as that time was for us
8:37
you were helping ground us and support us through it, made it a whole lot easier to bear
8:44
So I guess I want to say thank you for all of those moments through the years that you've been there
8:52
that you've calmed and helped and healed and been the most amazing mother
9:02
We love you. Hi Mary. So I would like to say a few things
9:09
that I normally don't have a chance to tell you. So I thought that would be a good opportunity
9:15
for me to do that. So first thing I want to say
9:21
is that I am truly, truly blessed to be part of your family and to be able to spend time with you and learn
9:31
lots of things from you. And I'm very grateful for that. Also, I would like to say that you are
9:40
an inspiration to me and you always been from the beginning since I met you Just on top of my head just the way how you run your household and how everything neat and clean and organized it is
9:57
and how generous you are and loving and kind to others with lots of doses of empathy, which I lack
10:08
Anyway, I just want to say how important you are to me
10:14
and I love spending time with you and cooking with you and preparing things and going shopping and all that
10:22
And, you know, the phrase mother-in-law just doesn't cut it. I never really like that phrase
10:32
Because I, in my heart, I felt, I feel like you are much more than that to me
10:38
And, you know, when Lily has deepovers and when she comes back
10:44
home, how she usually say that you guys are her second parents. And I have to say that I also
10:51
feel like that, that you and Steve are my second parents too. And I know that I can rely on you
10:57
and I can always come to you when I need an ear to hear and someone to comfort me. So thank you
11:04
for that. And I hope you're going to have a wonderful Thanksgiving and your birthday celebration
11:10
We love you very much. Daddy, do you know why like me
11:16
It's because she lets me have sleepovers whenever I want. And she lives close, and she doesn't live in any sort of different country
11:26
That's true. She doesn't live in a different country. Mimi, I love you very much for all my life, and I'm very glad you're my Mimi
11:36
Mimi, thanks for all the things that are fun when I come out for a sleepover
11:41
time for taking someone's good care of me. I love. I'm probably not going to say anything that other people haven't said or we'll say again
11:54
but you're loved and appreciated, and we appreciate everything you do and who you are
12:02
And if you look around, you'll see you and I have created quite a disturbance together
12:06
if you think about it. All these people in this place and
12:10
and all our plans for the future, and who knows where that'll go. So I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else
12:16
I love you. Daisy? Mm-hmm. What's something you love and appreciate about Mom
12:27
Well, lots of stuff. Lots of stuff, eh? Well, that's interesting. Can you think of anything specific
12:36
Um, um, um, uh, uh, Uh, treats like chicken and beef, fried eggs, cheddar cheese, and, and, um, steak
12:54
Basically every human food item. I see. Anything not to do with food that you love and appreciate about mom? Food? Did you bring me some
