Building a Deck Foundation on Bedrock

A while back I got an email from a cottage owner asking about options for building a deck on bedrock. This is a common situation in many areas with lakes and cottages. He asked in particular about a foundation on the irregular bedrock of his property. As you can see in the video below, I suggest pouring small pads pinned to the rock wherever you plan to use a support post. I’ve had 35+ years figuring out the various ways of making this work.
