I used copper for years, but my current go-to is flexible PEX water pipe (PEX stands for cross-linked polyethylene) using a cordless ProPEX expander tool for the connections. Benefits include faster plumbing installations, no need for compression rings, reduced fitting cost, more reliable operation and easier code compliance.
