Do you sometimes get large amounts of ice build-up on your roof in winter? Watch me install a neater, more reliable alternative to electric rooftop de-icing cables in the video above. When a roof gets warm enough in winter to melt rooftop snow, the resulting water runs down the roof and re-freezes along the cold, unheated edges. This can cause water leaks and a buildup of ice. I installed this system at our place and it has worked very well for more than five seasons.
