Top-Down Roof and Floor Insulation

Got a cottage or cabin roof or floor to insulate? Don’t want to spoil the look of the rafters and roof boards you can see from the inside? Adding insulation on the top of the roof or floor might be the way to go.

Watch as I explain how to insulate a cabin roof from the top, leaving the rafters and roof boards visible from inside. I also show how and why to insulate a cabin floor from the top using the same method. You’ll get much better performance than insulating between floor joists from underneath.
