Hi, it's Steve Maxwell here, and in this fix-it, I'm going to show you how to replace damaged

European cabinet door hinges. It's the cabinet over here, and the hinge in this case is all metal
0:11
This is a good one, but lots of hinges are partially plastic. Sometimes this part's plastic, sometimes this part is, sometimes even the arm is
0:18
And these often break, and the cabinet door sags down and is a real pain
0:23
So when it comes time to change the hinge, you need to find a replacement of the same configuration

You can buy my hinges from Lee Valley Tools. There are lots of other options

Look for EuroHinge, and you'll see dozens of different designs. The most common design is the 95-degree overlay hinge, which you can see right here
0:41
If you take a closer look at that hinge, this is what it looks like. The good ones are all metal, and that's the kind you want to get for replacement
0:48
That's already pre-drilled into the door. And you can see how they work here
0:53
That's the cabinet, that's the side of the cabinet, and that's the door opening that is 95 degrees
0:58
With the new hinge in place, you'll find that it anchors in the same place

These are standard hinges around the world. One side, the door side, fits into a round pocket, and the hole spacing on the other

side is the same, too. These hinges always have adjustment screws. This one allows left-to-right movement of the door, so you can get it centered in the opening

And this screw allows the door to be moved in and out for better positioning
