A good handsaw is quiet and makes no airborne dust. This is one reason hand saws are perfect for beginners. Another reason is speed. Surprisingly, hand saws are often faster than a power saw when you need to make just a few cuts. You might also find that a handsaw is particularly useful in the lumber store parking lot as you’re trying to get wood into your vehicle to take home.
