Solar generators are portable, cordless power supplies that deliver regular household current when the grid goes down, and you’ve probably seen them advertised.  Also called portable power supplies, these devices are hot now and being marketed hard. The claims for these things are pretty high, too.

Earlier this year I was approached by a manufacturer of a solar generator, hoping I’d take a look at their unit and make a video. I’m a big fan of building your own solar generator, but I agreed to take a look at this ready-made model anyway.

In the video below I show you the details of Generark HomePower ONE unit, comparedto the owner-built solar generator my students and I build as part of my online course. Click below for a visit in my shop and let me show you a few things about some pretty interesting technology.
