PLUG WELD: Simple Trick for Joining Metal Invisibly

Plug welds offer a simple way of joining two pieces of metal when you don’t want a visible weld bead. You can see a plug weld below. There are several circumstances where this approach makes a lot of sense and this is why plug welding is a good skill to know. Watch the video below for a plug weld tutorial from my online course MIG Welding for Beginners. The video includes actual footage of this weld happening.

A nice, neat plug weld joining two pieces of 1/4″-thick mild steel. Plug welds are a little trick that comes in very handy sometimes.

I like to keep my online courses relatively small to make sure that everyone gets the support and help they really need. So as much as I like to help everyone, I can only accept a small number of new students right now while still maintaining the level of support that’s needed. Please understand that this is a genuinely rare opportunity, and spots will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Some people will be shut out because there’s only so much room. This is literally the best program I’ve ever created on welding and it won’t surprise me if it sells out in a few hours. So keep your eyes open and jump on board as soon as registration opens. Watch the video below for a tour of plug welding in action.
