Most basements are finished far more poorly than they should be, and exterior basement walls are often the most serious example of error. The common practice of using stud frame walls with fiber-based insulation against foundation walls is simply asking for trouble, and many homeowners get it. This is particularly heartbreaking because there’s no way to go back and change things after spending tens of thousands of dollars.

The video above is part of my online course HOW TO FINISH A BASEMENT, and shows the best system I’ve seen so far for making warm, solid, and highly mold-resistant exterior finished walls. It’s not typical, but it is quite simple to use, and extremely effective.
